Panama Canal Centennial and Expansion
This year, the Panama Canal celebrates its 100th anniversary and we invite you to join this unforgettable event with an experience that takes you to the most important and influential areas related to this man-made wonder.
You will have the opportunity to see the Canal from so many different perspectives, including a boat ride within Gatun Lake; the rail line that meanders through and along the Canal, the Expansion Site where the new locks are being installed; in a restaurant overlooking Miraflores Lock, and of course, a full transit of the Canal, with commentary. Other visits include the historic city of Portobelo on the Caribbean side, the San Lorenzo forts, and the long awaited Museum of Biodiversity, the Frank Gehry designed museum dedicated to the biodiversity and natural history of Panama.
This is an opportunity to see as much about the Canal as possible, in this most important year. Not only the 100th anniversary, but the expansion, a $5.25 billion dollar project.
