Location:  In western Belize on the banks of the Macal River in the foothills of the Maya Mountains. From the international airport the drive is about 2.5 hours.
Accommodations:  The Cottage Collection is carefully tucked away amidst lush tropical gardens. The 23 individually designed thatched cottages reflect an atmosphere of elegance where charmingly decorated rooms and suites offer fine fabrics, furnishings and antiques. The spacious accommodations include private sun deck verandahs for viewing wildlife.
     Additionally, Chaa Creek offers several luxurious villas and suites - Complete Garden Suite, an Orchard and Spa Villa, Macal Cottage or Tree Top Suite, all equipped with a Jacuzzi for even extra comfort.
     Finally, for the budget-minded-yet-luxury traveler, The Macal River Camp sets high on the river's lush banks, close to the Tipu and Xunantunich.  Scattered throughout tropical rainforest are ten casitas, each on a raised platform with airy peak-roofs, full screens with two or four beds and a private sheltered porch for quiet relaxation. The camp provides shared bathrooms with hot water showers. This area is perfect for individuals or small groups on a budget.
Dining:  Spoil your taste buds and enjoy delectable 'Jungle Cuisine' in the romantic al fresco dining room. Activities:  You will probably run out of days before you run out of things to do at Chaa Creek.  Birding  with a bilingual naturalist guide for Keel-billed Toucan, Blue-crowned Mot-Mot and Black-headed Trogon, and loads of parrots!  Also, horseback riding, nature walks, canoeing, and mountain biking are offered to explore the area.
